Long before online business, I spent seventeen years in healthcare operations. I ran the scheduling for thirty-two operating rooms, where getting the logistics wrong was not an option. Then I managed projects for a health system's executive team and a school of medicine. Somewhere in there I started an event business, won a handful of awards, and then sold it. It's still running today.

Over the last decade, I've worked inside founder-led businesses, almost always in the seat right next to the founder. I've led teams across operations, client success, and delivery. I've sat between the owner and the COO, CFO, and CMO. I've built teams, and I've led them through layoffs. I've written the words a founder read out loud to her team on the hardest day of her year. And I've asked one simple question about an event I wasn't even running: why isn't anyone selling in this room? That question took the room from $0 to over a million dollars in sales.

All of it taught me one thing: the founders who make it aren't the ones with the best systems. They're the ones who stopped carrying every decision alone.
